When Calls the Heart is an American drama series based on the book of the same name by Janette Oke, which is part of her Western Canadian series. This show was created by Michael Landon Jr. The show’s first episode premiered on January 11, 2014, on the Hallmark Channel in the United States, and on April 16, 2014, on the Super Channel in Canada.
In October 2013, a two-hour TV film pilot with Maggie Grace as young teacher Elizabeth Thatcher and Stephen Amell as Royal North-West Mounted Police officer Wynn Delaney was the start of the series. Erin Krakow plays the main character in the TV show, which has a huge cast.
Hallmark picked up the show for its sixth season on March 21, 2018. The season kicked off with a two-hour Christmas special that was shown as part of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas. As of February 2019, the season should have continued with 10 more episodes. But due to the 2019 college admissions scandal involving Loughlin and his subsequent removal from all Hallmark properties, the season was postponed for “retooling”, and Loughlin’s scene was cut when he returned in May and ended in June.
When Calls The Heart Season 9 Episode 12 Release Date
Season 9 of “When Calls the Heart” is back. Episode 12, titled “Rock, A Bye, Baby,” will air on the Hallmark Channel on Sunday, May 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
When Calling Heart Plan
In When Calls the Heart, Erin Krakow plays Elizabeth Thatcher, a young teacher who is used to leading an upper-class life. He will teach for the first time in Coal Valley, a small coal mining town in Western Canada south of Robb, Alberta. There, life is simple, but often things are difficult to deal with. Most people in Coal Valley are fascinated by Elizabeth, but North-West Riding Policeman Jack Thornton is not one of them (Daniel Lissing). He thinks Thatcher’s rich dad has ruined his law enforcement career by sending him to the city to protect the daughter of the shipping magnate. Elizabeth must learn the ways of the Canadian border if she is to succeed in this coal town of 1910.
Abigail Stanton’s husband (Lori Loughlin), who is a mine foreman, and their only son, along with 45 other miners, died in the explosion caused by the carelessness and lack of responsibility of the mine site manager. When recently widowed women had to go to work in the mines to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table, and help pay teachers’ salaries, their faith was tested. After the coal mine closed, the town of Coal Valley was renamed Valley of Hope in the first episode of the second season.
