Fans of role-playing games rejoice! If you haven’t already. After all, you guys must be very busy with the Elden Ring. But today, we are discussing the release date for Avowed. After Microsoft acquired Obsidian Entertainment and the game was showcased at the Xbox 2020 Expo, there were certain expectations for this title. After all, it came from the same people who gave us the titles Fallout and the Outer World.

As we always say, you know what happened to us gamers; if any title is too old or if it ends up being a bad game, we’ll just take another title. It’s that simple. However, since Avowed promises a lot, let’s take a moment to see what Obsidian Entertainment has to offer the public. Admittedly ready to be their first major RPG title since being acquired by Microsoft. Can they do it? Or is the game stuck in developer hell?

What is Recognized?

Avowed is an upcoming role-playing game originally showcased at Xbox Games Exposition in July 2020 that takes players into the fantastical world of Eora. It was developed by Obsidian, the same studio that developed Fallout: New Vegas. Plus, it’s a spin-off of Pillars of Eternity. As for the intricacies of the story, we can’t get that far as the developers have kept the details under wraps.

Admittedly it will be an open world game and looks set to be bigger than Skyrim! As for how big, it’s up for grabs. We’ll know when the developer drops more intel on the official site. We knew that the environment would be very reactive to what players were doing, and the developers paid great attention to detailed character creation with mod support!

Is Recognized Bundled With Xbox Game Pass?

Since Microsoft bought Obsidian Entertainment, Avowed is Xbox Game Studios’ first-party title. As a result, Avowed will be available to all Xbox Game Pass holders at launch at no cost, as it is part of a subscription. Feel free to give it a try when it lands on your console!

Will Avowed Be Available On PlayStation?

As previously stated, Obsidian Entertainment is now owned by Microsoft. And everything the studio produces will be exclusive to the Xbox platform. Therefore, Avowed will not be available for the Sony PlayStation console.

Game Features

The game will feature a real-time weather system. Second, the boss battles will be on a very large scale. Also, you can ask friends who can help you on your journey and quest. Additionally, Obsidian will allow players to interact with every aspect of the game, as far as killing a few key characters and ending the plot.

There are two big cities that are currently developing. And the creatures and wildlife are based on the Pillars of Eternity story with new elements to provide a level of originality. Also, AI will be put into the mix to make things more interesting. To what point, we’re not sure. Lastly, you will play the game with melee weapons and magic spells.

Recognized Release Date

Admittedly will be released around 2022. Regarding the specific date and month. We’re not sure. And maybe the development team isn’t sure either. Firstly, the game has been stuck in development hell for over two years now. However, the game hasn’t been confirmed for a delay—yet. Supposedly, the wait won’t get past the second quarter of 2022. We’re already mid-May, and still no news. Could the developers hurry up, or did they tell us the game was delayed? They got more than 100 people working on the project. We wish them luck, as no game developer or gamer wants a project to crash due to delays.
